Uses

The tools I work with, day to day.

Updated July 2026  ·  What is a “uses page”?

Toolkit

  • Claude Code and Codex are my daily drivers — most of my work now runs through AI agents, following skills I’ve written myself and working asynchronously on multiple streams at once
  • I was an early adopter of Figma, which is still my go-to tool when I’m designing
  • Almost all of the animations on this site were made with Remotion
  • I use Sublime Text and Zed as text editors (mostly as scratchpads or when I need to get my hands dirty coding again)
  • iTerm 2 remains my terminal of choice
  • I use the various flavours of the GitHub theme to keep things visually consistent
  • My current monospace font is Berkeley Mono
  • All of my code lives on GitHub, where I also publish utilities extracted from real projects that might save someone else an afternoon
  • More and more of my infrastructure runs on Cloudflare as their offering keeps improving

Workstation

Pretty much everything I own is Apple, and has been for years.

  • I have the Pro Display XDR, which makes me way more performant (though I’m not thrilled that Apple’s newer Pro displays have stepped down from 32 inches)
  • The Herman Miller Aeron is my preferred task chair
  • My desk was custom made by my good friend Abdollah Nafisi, before he became an international art sensation
  • I use the Apple numeric keyboard, English layout — I love the larger return key and Touch ID is incredibly convenient (I never much got into mechanical, despite loving the aesthetic)
  • I like Logitech mice and currently use an MX Master 3S
  • I formerly worked as a fashion photographer and have a decent Canon DSLR, but these days I shoot almost exclusively on iPhone (“the best camera is the one you have with you”)

Apps

  • 1Password is my first install on a new device
  • I use Things with the GTD methodology for managing tasks
  • I have Raycast as my launcher and quick-access, multi-purpose calculator
  • Flighty tracks my flights
  • I listen to music on Spotify (@joshuabaker)

Gaming

I game through GeForce Now Ultimate. As an early adopter I appreciate how they’ve stabilised the service. I can no longer imagine a personal heater raging away under the desk whenever I want to stomp around on Avarax.
